Welcome to the Second National Dissection Course in Facial Plastic Surgery at the MS Ramaiah Advanced learning Centre, Bangalore. We have chosen International and National faculties for this course to train participants in all aspects of facial plastic surgery and to develop the subspecialty of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery amongst Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery colleagues in India.

The course is designed as an intense 3 day course using one fresh frozen cadaver per dissector. As Facial Plastic Surgery is an exciting new and evolving subspecialty of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, prior familiarization with the subject is desirable to gain maximum advantage while attending the course. Suitable reading references have been provided at the end of this page.

5 dissectors and 5 observers shall be chosen based on their Curriculum vitae and prior experience in this subspecialty for exclusive transfer of skills. 30 delegates can register on first come first served basis for attending the course as audience.

We would like to promote interest in this field by offering 3 Postgraduate ENT trainees the opportunity to attend for free. They will be selected according to the achievements and interest demonstrated by them in their biodata.

Notes to Dissectors


Hands on training shall be provided on an exclusive fresh frozen cadaver (as per international standards) allotted to you. Interested consultants may forward their curriculum vitae to Info@facialplasticsurgerycourses.com by 31st January 2014.

Upon selection, the dissectors are expected to pay the Course fees in the month of February, 2014.

A set of basic facial plastic surgery instruments shall be handed over to the dissectors which are included in the registration fees.

A Brief Course material encompassing all the techniques shall be handed over to the dissectors at the start of the course.

Dissectors are expected to help develop the subspeciality in their respective cities and states.

A compulsory log book maintenance has to be ensured for 6 months following the course for future validation and training.

Certification as dissector will be provided at the end of the course.

The dissectors shall also benefit from continued personal guidance and monitoring in order to develop their facial plastic surgery practice by the international faculty for next 1 year.

Notes to Observers


5 observers shall be allotted to an exclusive fresh frozen Cadaver ( as per international standards) and stand to gain from the expert panel at a close proximity. Each observer has the additional advantage of assisting the dissector and learning in the process.

Interested consultants may forward their curriculum vitae to Info@facialplasticsurgerycourses.com by 31st January 2014.

Upon selection, the Observers are expected to pay the Course fees in the month of February, 2014.

A Brief Course material encompassing all the techniques shall be handed over to the observers at the start of the course.

Certification as observer will be provided at the end of the course.

The observers will be given preference over others to become dissectors in future courses if any.

Notes to Delegates


Delegates shall be attending the course as audience in the seminar hall. The live proceedings of the dissection shall be transmitted to the hall at all times.

Complementary Cleft and local flap training module shall be included in the registration. However handling tissues shall be restricted to dissectors and observers.

The delegates can register their names for the course on a first come first serve basis.

Since there are limited numbers of audience seats, the course is expected to get filled early.

The advanced skills lab has requested the audience/delegate to refrain from entering the human tissue lab during the course.

Certification as delegate shall be provided at the end of the course

Notes to final year postgraduates ( Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery)


The selected postgraduate shall be attending the course as audience/delegate in the seminar hall. The live proceedings of the dissection shall be transmitted to the hall at all times.

Complementary Cleft and local flap training module shall be included in the registration. However handling tissues shall be restricted to dissectors and observers.

Interested Final year postgraduates may forward their curriculum vitae to Info@facialplasticsurgerycourses.com by 31st January 2014.

An accompanying letter from the head of the department stating permission to attend the course needs to be furnished after selection for the grant.

3 Grants for complementary registration shall be provided to the selected postgraduates.

Certification as delegate shall be provided at the end of the course

Event Highlights


2nd facial plastic surgery course being organized in the country designed to cover the entire spectrum of facial plastic surgery.

Intensive 3 day hands on course jointly conducted by International and national otolaryngologists, facial plastic surgeons.

5 dissectors will be trained with special focus to help develop the branch of facial plastic surgery in their practise.

5 observers will get a chance to assist the dissectors during the dissection.

3 final year postgraduates in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery will be selected for Waiver Grants to attend the course as delegates.

Limited number of delegate entries to ensure maximum one on one interaction.

Surgical stalls related to facial plastic surgery will be set up for buying equipment directly

Advanced skills lab at MSR medical college is the only facility in the country equipped for fresh frozen cadaver demonstrations and hands on delagates.
